What decides the price of a wedding card

We quote against your actual card rather than a price list, because six things move the number. Here is what they are, so you know what you are choosing between.

The six things that move the price

Two cards that look alike in a photo can be priced differently once these are settled. Any of them can be adjusted to bring a card into your budget.

  1. Quantity

Most of the cost of a print run is in the setup, so the price per card falls as the count rises. It is worth pricing two quantities and comparing before you decide.

  2. Paper

Board thickness and surface change the price before anything is printed. Ivory board, linen, pearl and kraft all sit at different levels.

  3. Format

A single card uses one sheet. A folded card, a gatefold or a card with a laser-cut sleeve uses more board and more handling.

  4. Finish

This moves the price the most. Plain printing, foil, embossing and letterpress are clearly different levels of work.

  5. Inserts

Inner sheets in two languages, a reception insert and a directions slip each add a printed piece to every envelope.

  6. Envelopes

Plain, printed, or lined with a coloured or foil paper. Larger and unusual card shapes need their own envelope size.

Questions about pricing

A wedding card is priced on the quantity, the paper, the format, the finish and the number of inserts. Two cards that look similar can differ a lot once those are settled, so we quote against your actual requirement.

Send a photo of a card you like on WhatsApp with your guest count and your date. That is usually enough for us to reply with options and a price.

Yes. Most of the cost of a print run sits in the setup, so the price per card falls as the quantity rises. Ask us to price two quantities and compare.

The finish. Plain printing, foil, embossing and letterpress sit at clearly different levels, and the format matters too because a gatefold or a laser-cut sleeve uses more board and more handling.
